As an example, when one of New Jersey’s largest law firms asked DCA for help with a major check fraud investigation, ABBYY FlexiCapture was a perfect fit. “We can extract all the printed data, including the signature line, endorsement and payee, which makes it much easier for the attorneys to see if there’s fraud,” Mike says, “and we’ve got similar projects on the horizon for FlexiCapture, and a lot of big deals for Recognition Server.” And how does DCA like working with ABBYY? “We love the relationship we’re building,” Mike says. “From their outstanding sales and consultancy services, to their can-do attitude to improving support, it’s terrific.” Regarding the latter, Mike adds: “Bill Kouzi and Craig Laue are making things right.” Under their direction, ABBYY will be piloting an on-site training program to get DCA’s engineers up to speed, in an effort to help DCA better understand and streamline its implementation costs. “Without a strong relationship on both the sales and support sides,” Mike says, “you can’t successfully implement large solutions.”

Automated Document Processing with ABBYY Recognition Server

ABBYY Recognition Server is a scalable solution for enterprises looking to convert large volumes of paper for archiving, e-discovery and enterprise search. Recognition Server is a server-based solution that automates document processing, OCR and PDF conversion to create fully searchable electronic text. The system can be deployed in multiple departments or locations and monitored from a central site, making it ideal for enterprise environments.

The three main components of Recognition Server are the server manager, processing station and administration console. First the server manager identifies all requests coming into the system and distributes the jobs to various processing stations for conversion. Processing stations then automatically perform OCR and conversion and deliver documents to file storage, e-mail addresses and ECM systems. The solution is highly scalable, as additional processing stations can be added as processing volumes increase. The entire system is monitored by a central administration point, where customization and integration with external applications can be configured. Tasks can be managed by creating workflows according to procedural rules set by business processes.
